Art Turner studied piano performance and music theory at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. After graduating, he followed a variety of careers, but music was always at the heart of his passion. Art lived in many areas of the world while working with humanitarian projects. The diverse cultures and musical styles he experienced injected multi-colored threads and contrasting textures into the musical tapestries he creates. As an accomplished accompanist, Art gained a deep understanding of the intimate connections that exist between music, the performer and the audience. The ultimate destination of his creative process is music that moves the listener physically or emotionally. His music has been used in advertising, film and video, and has been performed on stage by bands, choirs and ballet companies. Art is most at home with music that is reflective, dramatic and epic. His themes are often ominous or dark, but his music has also been described as calming, uplifting and inspiring.
