A student of music since the young age of 5, Taylor pulls influences from nearly every genre of western music imaginable. His training began with classical piano studies in both theory and performance. Born to a father of a touring musician, Taylor's musical taste evolved quickly to accommodate and appreciate music of the mid 20th century, for both pop and jazz music alike. As a freshman in high school, his admiration of jazz led him to study with Lawrence University's John Harmon, a student of the great Oscar Peterson himself. It wasn't until college that Taylor discovered that there was so much more than just jazz and classical and began to embrace the modern world of pop, hip hop, EDM, and the likes of singer/songwriters. As a composer, he strives for people to see the diversity in his music and to be a door to help people discover the beauty in ALL genres of music.
